So you want to be a comedian?
The Laugh Shop located on Whyte ave is just the right place to try out stand up comedy.  Every Wednesday night at 8PM we play host to the next generation of Canadian Comedy Superstars (and some train wrecks). The Laugh Shop Open Mic night is a great place to try out what you have only been talking about.

What do you need?
Five minutes of ORIGINAL comedy, and a desire to perform stand up gets you started.  If you are looking for more, we do offer Paul Sveen's Award Winning Comedy Class several times throughout the year.  Click here for more information or contact Paul via email here.

All comedians performing are encouraged to bring family and friends to see them at no charge, please have them call the box office ahead of time (780-476-1010) to reserve tickets and let them know they are they to see you. There is no guarantee there will be room for your guests if they do not call ahead. 

We have a contest running now: Whomever brings the most people to see them wins a 7 min spot on Thursday of the following week. Please check in with the door staff by 7:30 or your spot will be released, if you are going to be late call the box office to let them know. All comedians are expected to perform 4-5 minutes of original material; you will receive a warning light with 1 minute remaining in your set.
